Barasaurus besairiei

Taxonomy
Barasaurus besairiei was named by Piveteau (1955). Its type specimen is a specimen in the MNHN Paris ("P1" in Meckert, 1995), a partial skeleton (distal limb elements are missing), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Ranohira (Sakamena Fm.), which is in a Lopingian paralic shale in the Lower Sakamena Formation of Madagascar. It is the type species of Barasaurus.
