Euomphalus (Cyclonema) rugaelineata was named by Hall and Whitfield (1872) [Eumphalus (Cyclonema) rugaelineata Hall & Whitfield 1872]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Cyclonema rugaelineata by Nettelroth (1889); it was recombined as Poleumita rugaelineata by Bassler (1915) and Thompson (1970); it was recombined as Oriostoma rugaelineata by Wagner (2023).
