Lucina childrinae was named by Gray (1824). It is extant.

It was corrected as Lucina childrenae by Gray (1825); it was recombined as Phacoides (Miltha) childrenae by Dall (1905); it was recombined as Phacoides childrenae by Ihering (1907); it was recombined as Miltha childrenae by Lamy (1921); it was recombined as Miltha (Miltha) childrenae by Vokes (1969).
