Poirieria (Panamurex) laccopoia
Taxonomy
Muricopsis laccopoia was named by Gardner (1947). Its type specimen is USNM 371880, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 2213 - Baileys Ferry, which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.
It was synonymized subjectively with Paziella (Panamurex) fusinoides by Woodring (1959); it was recombined as Poirieria (Panamurex) laccopoia by Vokes (1970).
