Taxonomy
Paziella (Dallimurex) lychnia was named by Gardner (1947). Its type specimen is USNM 371853, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 2213 - Baileys Ferry, which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.

It was recombined as Poirieria (Panamurex) lychnia by Vokes (1970).
