Taxonomy
Eucharis elliptica was named by Récluz (1850). It is extant.

It was recombined as Ensitellops elliptica by Olsson and Harbison (1953); it was recombined as Anisodonta elliptica by Richards (1962); it was recombined as Basterotia (Basterotella) elliptica by Vokes (1981) and Hendy et al. (2008).
