Drillia whitfieldi was named by Martin (1904) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Maryland.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Clavatula whitfieldi by Gardner (1948); it was recombined as Inodrillia whitfieldi by Ward (1998).
