Haplophragmoides was named by Cushman (1910) [Sepkoski's age data: K Berr-u R Sepkoski's reference number: 1051]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Haplophragmoididae by Loeblich and Tappan (1988); to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Haplophragmoiidae by Morlotti (1988), Wienrich (1997) and Neagu and Cirnaru (2004).
