It was recombined as Vitta virginea by Baker (1923); it was recombined as Neritina (Vitta) virginea by Woodring (1957); it was recombined as Neritina virginia by Miller (1983); it was recombined as Neritina virginea by Massemin et al. (2009) and Landau et al. (2016).
