Taxonomy
Murex veatchi was named by Maury (1910). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 554 - Chipola River, which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.
It was recombined as Urosalpinx veatchi by Gardner (1947); it was recombined as Hexaplex (Hexaplex) veatchi by Vokes (1968).
