Taxonomy
Hexaplex (Murexsul) thalmanni was named by Vokes (1968). It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 645890, a shell. Its type locality is TU 638 - Coatzacoalcos [Agueguexquite Fm], which is in a Pliocene coastal claystone in the Agueguexquite Formation of Mexico.
