Distorsio mcgintyi was named by Emerson and Puffer (1953). It is extant.

It was recombined as Distorsio (Rhysema) mcgintyi by Clench and Turner (1957); it was recombined as Distorsio constricta mcgintyi by Pointer and Lamy (1998).
