Taxonomy
Noviphyllum canningense was named by Brownlaw and Jell (2008). Its type locality is UQL 6400 Sparke Range, which is in a Frasnian perireef or subreef siltstone/conglomerate in the Sparke Conglomerate Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Noviphyllum.
