Taxonomy
Sethamphora was named by Haeckel (1887) [Sethophormida (vel Dicyrtida multiradiata aperta) with numerous curved ribs in the wall of the ovate thorax, the small mouth of which is constricted. Cephalis without horn.]. It is extant. It was considered monophyletic by Haeckel (1887).

It was reranked as Dictyoprora (Sethamphora) by Loeblich and Tappan (1961).

It was assigned to Radiolaria by Haeckel (1887); and to Dictyoprora by Loeblich and Tappan (1961).
