Adrana was named by Adams and Adams (1858) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 914]. It is extant. Its type is Nucula lanceolata.

It was reranked as Leda (Adrana) by Harris (1895).

It was assigned to Leda by Harris (1895); to Nuculanidae by Gardner (1945), Woodring (1973), Vokes (1980) and Todd (2001); to Nuculoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Nuculaninae by Coan and Valentich-Scott (2012).
