Taxonomy
Pecten (Flabellipecten) gatunensis was named by Toula (1909). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pecten gatunensis by Brown and Pilsbry (1911), Olsson (1922) and Hodson et al. (1927); it was recombined as Flabellipecten gatunensis by Woodring (1982); it was recombined as Leopecten gatunensis by Waller (2011).
