Lyropecten denaius

Taxonomy
Nodipecten denaius was named by Woodring (1982). Its type specimen is USNM 647126, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Location 52, Gatun Lake area [Caimito Fm], which is in an Oligocene marine marl/sandstone in the Caimito Formation of Panama.

It was recombined as Lyropecten denaius by Smith (1991).
