Taxonomy
Kallirhynchia cavagnarii was named by Diaz-Romero (1931). Its type locality is Amarti, which is in an Oxfordian/Kimmeridgian shallow subtidal limestone in Eritrea.

It was recombined as Burmirhynchia cavagnarii by Muir-Wood (1935).
