Taxonomy
Somalithyris macfadyeni was named by Muir-Wood (1935). Its type locality is Bihendula, which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian shallow subtidal limestone in the Bihen Limestone Formation of Somalia. It is the type species of Somalithyris.
