Taxonomy
Microthyridina farquharsoni was named by Muir-Wood (1935). Its type locality is Deberaweina, which is in a Kimmeridgian marine horizon in Somalia.

It was recombined as Ornithella farquharsoni by Abbate et al. (1974).
