Taxonomy
Nuculana (Jupiteria) davidana was named by Olsson (1942). Its type specimen is PRI 4081, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Saccella davidana by Woodring (1973) and Hendy et al. (2008).
