Leda rosa was named by Hanna (1927) [TYPE LOCALITY: California (Eocene). HISTORY: Type by original designation of Portlandella Stewart 1930 [Coan et al. 2000].]. Its type specimen is UCMP 31090, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Portlandia (Portlandella) rosa by Stewart (1930) and Woodring (1973); it was recombined as Portlandia (Portlandia) rosa by Moore (1983); it was recombined as Portlandia rosa by Hendy (2020).
