Taxonomy
Chlamys (Aequipecten) macfadyeni was named by Cox (1935). It is not extant. Its type locality is Bihendula, which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian shallow subtidal limestone in the Bihen Limestone Formation of Somalia.
It was recombined as Aequipecten macfadyeni by Manivit et al. (1990); it was recombined as Spondylopecten macfadyeni by Aberhan (2010).
