Taxonomy
Ceromyopsis somaliensis was named by Weir (1929). Its type specimen is S. 3412a and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bihendula (Bihin Limestone mudstone series), which is in a Callovian marine mudstone/shale in the Bihin Limestone Formation of Somalia.
It was recombined as Ceratomyopsis somaliensis by Manivit et al. (1990).
