Discussion

Type species was nomen dubium Stylina echinulata. New type selected in 2018: Zaman, S., and B. Lathuilière. 2018. Case 3771–Stylina Lamarck, 1816 (Coelenterata, Scleractinia): proposed conservation of usage by designation of Stylina insignis Fromentel, 1861 as type species and lectotype designation for it. The Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 75(1):229-236.

Taxonomy
Stylina insignis was named by de Fromentel (1861).

It was recombined as Cryptocoenia insignis by Beauvais (1964).
