Taxonomy
Gamizyga (Hyphantozyga) fusiforma was named by Hoare and Sturgeon (1980). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CSl-1. Roadcut on North side of US 36 2.5 kilometers east of junction with 0hio , which is in an Atokan shallow subtidal limestone/shale in the Pottsville Formation of Ohio.

It was recombined as Hyphantozyga fusiforma by Wagner (2023).
