Taxonomy
Cardita (Carditamera) serricosta was named by Heilprin (1887) [DISTRIBUTION: Neogene; Florida]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cardita serricosta by Dall (1900); it was recombined as Venericardia serricosta by Dall (1903); it was recombined as Venericardia (Glyptoactis) serricosta by Woodring (1982).
