Taxonomy
Crassatellites mediamericanus was named by Brown and Pilsbry (1913) [TYPE SPECIMEN: Lectotype used.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 3498, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Eucrassatella (Eucrassatella) mediamericana by Woodring (1982).
