Crassatellites trinitarius venezuelanus was named by Hodson (1927). Its type specimen is PRI 21999, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Crassatella (Eucrassatella) trinitaria venezuelanus by Barrios (1960); it was recombined as Eucrassatella trinitaria venezuelana by Jung (1965); it was recombined as Eucrassatella (Hybolophus) venezuelana by Woodring (1982).
