It was recombined as Felis (Lynx) lynx by Boule and De Villeneuve (1927); it was recombined as Lynx lynx by Thomas (1911), Kurten and Anderson (1980), Johnson et al. (2006) and Breitenmoser and Breitenmoser (2017).
