Taxonomy
Mactra sincola was named by Olsson (1922). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Saury Creek, which is in a Pliocene marine siliciclastic in Costa Rica.
It was recombined as Harvella sincola by Woodring (1982) and Perrilliat (1992).
