Taxonomy
Trigerastraeopsis ecuellensis was named by Beauvais (1964). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Neuvelle-les-Champlitte, which is in an Oxfordian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in France. It is the type species of Trigerastraeopsis.
