Kapes bentoni

Taxonomy
Kapes bentoni was named by Spencer and Storrs (2002). Its type specimen is BRSUG 26185, a partial skull (associated left and right maxillae with attached fragmentary premaxillae, left and right mandibular rami, including a right splenial, and fragments of palate), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is western end of Salcombe Hill Cliff, Sidmouth, which is in an Anisian fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Otter Sandstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
