Sphaeraster tabulatus

Taxonomy
Asterias tabulata was named by Goldfuss (1833). Its type specimen is at the Museum für Natukunde, Berlin and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Sphaerites tabulatus by Quenstedt (1852), Quenstedt (1858), von Zittel (1876), Fraas (1886) and Schöndorf (1906); it was recombined as Sphaeraster tabulatus by Fraas (1910), Hess (1975) and Blake (1984).
