Taxonomy
Montlivaltia paucisepta was named by Beauvais (1964). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is La Caquerelle, Lower Argovian, which is in an Oxfordian perireef or subreef limestone in Switzerland.

It was recombined as Plesiomontlivaltia paucisepta by Baron-Szabo (2018).
