Taxonomy
Ervilia valhosierr was named by Gardner (1928). Its type specimen is USNM 352017, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 5079 - Shell Bluff [Shoal River Fm], which is in a Serravallian marine marl/sandstone in the Shoal River Formation of Florida.
