Taxonomy
Tapirus veroensis was named by Sellards (1918). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vero, which is in a Pleistocene channel sandstone/sandstone in Florida.
It was recombined as Tapirus (Helicotapirus) veroensis by Hulbert (2010).
