Taxonomy
Fusus ceramidus was named by Dall (1889) [TYPE SPECIMEN: Lectotype used.]. It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 87069, a shell.

It was recombined as Latirus ceramidus by Bullock (1968); it was recombined as Fusinus ceramidus by Abbott (1974); it was recombined as Lamellilatirus ceramidus by Lyons and Snyder (2008).
