It was assigned to Cryptodonta by Newell (1965) and Vokes (1980); to Lipodonta by Cope (1997); to Bivalvia by Sepkoski (2002); to Palaeotaxodonta by Spencer et al. (2004); to Protobranchia by Coan et al. (2000), Bieler and Mikkelsen (2006) and Fang (2006); to Protobranchia by Mikkelsen and Bieler (2008); and to Protobranchia by Nevesskaja (2009).
