Myoconchidae was named by Newell (1957). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Kalenteridae by Bouchet et al. (2010).

It was assigned to Modiomorphoida by Scholz et al. (2008); and to Kalenteroidea by Nevesskaja (2009) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
