Kapes majmesculae

Taxonomy
Tichvinskia majmesculae was named by Ochev (1968). Its type specimen is PIN 4365/5, a mandible (left dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Petropavlovka I (Locality 19), which is in an Olenekian channel sandstone in the Petropavlovka Formation of the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Orenburgia majmeskulae by Ivakhnenko (1975); it was recombined as Kapes majmeskulae by Ivakhnenko (1983); it was recombined as Kapes majmesculae by Novikov (1991), Spencer and Benton (2000), Spencer and Storrs (2002) and Ivakhnenko (2008).

I. V. Novikov 1991Translated: [Length of dentary tooth row 14 mm. Teeth are close together. Maximum breadth of molariforms at half of tooth's height. Leghth of ridge at the tip of molariforms (with exception of posteriormost and largest one) is not less than half of tooth's breadth. The a/c ratio is 2.4. Maximum height of dentary is 1.5-fold the height of largest molariform.
