Venus (Chione) ulocyma was named by Dall (1895). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Chione (Lirophora) ulocyma by Brown and Pilsbry (1911); it was recombined as Chione ulocyma by Olsson (1922); it was recombined as Lirophora (Panchione) ulocyma by Woodring (1982).
