Pteranodon sternbergi

Taxonomy
Pteranodon sternbergi was named by Harksen (1966). Its type specimen is SMM 5426, a skull, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is 1 mile W of Bogue, which is in a Coniacian/Santonian offshore horizon in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas.

It was recombined as Pteranodon (Sternbergia) sternbergi by Miller (1971); it was recombined as Geosternbergia sternbergi by Kellner (2010).
