Taxonomy
Chione tegulum was named by Brown and Pilsbry (1911). Its type specimen is ANSP (no number), a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Chionopsis tegula by Olsson (1964); it was recombined as Chione (Chionopsis) tegulum by Woodring (1982).
