Taxonomy
Trochocyathus (Paratrochocyathus) chevalieri was named by Cairns and Wells (1987). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NMB Loc. 15836 - Rio Gurabo [Gurabo Fm], which is in a Messinian coastal siliciclastic in the Rio Gurabo Formation of the Dominican Republic.

It was recombined as Trochocyathus chevalieri by Kiessling (2014).
