Taxonomy
Macropus goliah was named by Owen (1874). Its type specimen is BMNH M1896, a maxilla (partial right adult maxilla containing M1-3), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Procoptodon goliah by Lydekker (1894).
