Taxonomy
Mitrella pedana was named by Gardner (1947). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 2211 - Alum Bluff, lower bed, which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.
