Praeeuphronides crassirimosus was named by Mostler (1972). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Waidring, Tirol, which is in a Pliensbachian carbonate limestone in the Rotgeflecker Liaskalk Formation of Austria.
