Rasia was named by Gray (1857) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1112].

It was reranked as Anadara (Rasia) by Woodring (1973), del Rio (1992) and Todd (2001); it was synonymized subjectively with Anadara by Coan et al. (2000).

It was assigned to Anadarinae by Vokes (1980) and Ward (1992); to Anadara by Woodring (1973), del Rio (1992) and Todd (2001); and to Arcoida by Sepkoski (2002).
