Striarca was named by Conrad (1862) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi-u R]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Striarcinae by Vokes (1980) and Ward (1992); to Arcoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Noetiidae by Lamprell and Healy (1998) and Vera-Peláez et al. (2004).
